Ch 83 – Arrrggg!!!

I’m sorry that I have to postpone posting chapter 83. I just found out that a certain website was copying and pasting my translation without my permission. Arrrgggg!!! And this website dared to put a copy right on its website when what they do is actually stealing from the other translators!!! I have known about this issue for a while but I thought I kind of fixed this problem by not approving that website’s request to “ping” my translation. But then Din2  found out about this website while she was looking for a raw novel that we might do for our next project. And I could see all of my translations were copied & pasted into their website. I’m sooo mad!!! I tried to leave a comment in that website to ask them to remove my translation but it didn’t go through. 😡😡😡

    • They did link nutty’s website & left Din2’s name as the editor. I’m trying to find out if I can pay for an upgrade version so nobody can just copy & paste from nutty’s blog.

  1. Really sorry that this is happening to you 😞 i also do a little translating myself and had this happen to me too. I’ve noticed it happens to a lot of other people too and know the frustration you are going through 😞 It sucks that there’s little we can to about it cuz it’s the world wide web and anything we publish is out there for the taking by anyone 😤 It’s one of the reasons why I have stopped doing anymore translating cuz it’s unmotivating to translate when you know there are others who will steal your hours of hard work for themselves in seconds 😩

    • Since you’ve been doing translation longer than me. Do you know that if I upgrade the website, can someone still able to copy & paste? I noticed that the thief’s website couldn’t be copied & pasted. That’s what makes me mad even more. They steal our works & they put a copy right on their website. 😡😡😡 Btw, I have read your translations in the past too.

      • I’ve looked into other websites that do offer copy and paste protection but you have to pay for a subscription for them. Since i only do light translations and not a lot, it didn’t make since for me to do that 🙁 I also don’t really know what to do about this issue. It sucks and i feel helpless 😣

      • Are you using WordPress too? Out of curiosity, how much is the subscription fee to protect my translation? I actually don’t mind paying on behalf of nutty’s blog as long as it’s not too ridiculously high…

      • i don’t think the subscription fee is expensive, and i think they have different fees depending on your needs. wordpress has two sites, one is a .com site which most use and the other is a .org site. the .org site offers more user control which means it’s up to the user to add on any plugins that they want for their site where as the .com site automatically has everything for the user. i don’t remember all the details but i think the .org site offers a plugin or at least a back-end function where a reader cannot copy and paste from the site. don’t take my word for it though, i researched this a long time ago, but do check out wordpress.org as an option 🙂

  2. so sorry to hear you become of their victims too, almost every translators that i knew and has been known by the chinese web novel’s lover got their work stolen. if it were us the old readers we might knew they were pirate and will never visit their website but i feel pity for the one who just started to read web novel and just looking for the translation in the google and the results that appeared mostly from the pirate site

  3. Sorry to hear that. I dont get why that website chooses to steal other people’s work instead of asking if you want to add it there. In this day and age, to do such an unscrupulous thing, its unfathomable. I hope some hacker hacks that website.

    • Hehehe… We’re thinking alike… I asked my bro if he could hack a website for a good cause. Unfortunately, my bro can’t do it. I’m going to ask a couple of my other friends. 😜

    • We have to change to WordPress.org for the feature to work. It’s way too complicated according to my hubby as we have to own our own server. WordPress.com, which is the website that we’re using doesn’t offer the feature. Thanks for your suggestion though. I give up being cared on what the thief will do with my translation.

  4. Kinda late to the party, I apologise. Have your resolved the situation though? If not, do share a link with the readers so we can collectively spam their website. we can even try searching for some f9 people who can do a Ddos attack on the copying website.

    • No real solution except I have decided to ignore the thief. It’s too complicated to move the blog to a new server. And they guy isn’t new to stealing people’s works. A lot of the other translators had been trying to do a lot of things to avoid this but couldn’t. The best way is to ignore the website! But thanks for the offer…
